Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Anaheim will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in California usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.

Families Beware We stopped by Chubby Dumpling while visiting Anaheim because our family loves Asian food. Unfortunately, we never got the chance to try the food because of the way we were treated. When I asked if they had a kids’ menu, the gentleman behind the register (long curly hair, darker complexion) scoffed, smiled, and said, “We don’t have a kids’ menu,” in a way that made it feel like my question was ridiculous. That was enough to make us feel unwelcome before we had even ordered. The ironic part is that we weren’t looking for chicken nuggets and fries. Our kids have grown up eating pho, bún bò Huế, ramen, dumplings, vermicelli bowls, salmon, teriyaki chicken, and all kinds of Asian cuisine. Our 4-year-old regularly eats broth over rice, and our 13-year-old has been eating pho since before they were a year old. We were simply hoping for smaller portions because kids don’t eat as much as adults. I was honestly surprised that a restaurant located so close to Disneyland, where thousands of families visit every day, doesn’t offer a kids’ menu or any kid-sized portions. The least expensive fried rice option was around $17–18 for a vegetable fried rice with no meat. That’s a

This place is awesome. Soup dumplings are fantastic. I’ve had Michelin recommended soup dumplings before and these are for sure right up there. Chicken lo mein was impeccable. Casual atmosphere with great food, what’s not to love?

Got the shrimp dumpling soup to go and it was true perfection. After a long day at the comic convention this hit the spot for a tired soul. I wish I had the energy to have gotten more from the menu, so I'm excited for my next visit here. Genuinely surprised how the ratings are but that's the way it goes.

⭐️⭐️⭐️½ (3.5–4, adjusted lower due to order issue) This is one of the Chubby locations, situated in Anaheim. It’s conveniently located on Katella Ave, right next to Blaze Pizza and Starbucks, just east of Harbor Blvd. 🚗 Parking: Parking is in the rear — there’s a driveway immediately past Harbor Blvd heading east on Katella. It’s shared with Hyatt and Walgreens, and the best part: free parking. The restaurant is also just down the block from Disneyland’s front entrance and shuttle area, which makes it a convenient stop before or after a park visit. It is small in there and it feels everything is kind of cramped up. Not sure if it’s good for large group of people. On that, I would give them a lower rating. 📱 Ordering & Timing: I ordered online through their website, and the quoted pickup time was pretty accurate, which I appreciate. 🍽 What I Ordered: • Siu Mai (4 pcs) • BBQ Pork Bun (1 pc) • Black Pepper Beef Dumplings (6 pcs) • Wagyu Beef Dan Dan Noodles ❗ Order Accuracy Issue: I specifically requested no cilantro (the website even prompted this), but that request was not honored. That’s a big miss for me and definitely costs them one star. 🧑🍳 Food Thoughts: • BBQ Pork Bun

Great food, friendly staff, and quick service for how busy they were on my visit. Stopped in for take out during the Disney Half Marathon weekend. Despite the place being completely packed the staff were all great, for was prepared pretty quick for how many were ahead of us, and tasted great. Definitely recommend the dumplings, of course. But we also tried the noodles. Seating is limited, but ended up finding a spot along the wall bar in the back. Would def return for dumplings again. But I would try and order ahead for takeout to save time.
